The delayed blog reaction continues...

Let's Retreat!
On Wednesday the whole (or most) of Year 12 went to a remote friary in Aylesford for a retreat. For something I thought was going to be mainly focused on the religious aspect of things, it turned out to be one whole big day out in the countryside. Which was good, to be honest, since the weather was perfect for doing summer stuff in the park kinda stuff. The only religious aspects were a 30 minute or so 'quiet reflection' time, and a short mass in the afternoon.
The only slight snag was the fact that it was ridiculously hot on the coaches.
Upon getting back to Forest Gate a few of us decided that it was too early to go home and instead headed over to West Ham Park for a game of softball. About an hour and a half of softball later, we all gave up and some of us decided to chuck water at each other instead. Then we all sat down on a bench somewhere and socialised before becoming under attack from a squirrel that decided to chuck its unwanted food down at us.

Action in the Community
On Thursday the whole (or most) of Year 12 took part in Community Action Day, where we help the community (apparently). Being involved with TELCO for the day, we went over to Queens Market in Upton Park to conduct a questionaire over the future of the market. Rather than knock the whole thing down and replace it with yet another Asda, why not just do a proper refurbishment and manage it properly (that's the line we're taking)?
After typing up the results on PC, I spent the latter part of the afternoon watching a mural being painted in the Bons common room, since it was still too hot to go outside and do, well, anything.
In the evening, I helped out at the St Angelas Year 11 NRA evening by serving out drinks in the marquee. I also got to see some of the show; kinda wish I was there last year as well...

And Today?
This morning my CDs from Amazon.co.uk landed on the doormat, so I've been listening to those for most of the morning. Also sorting out the various stuffs that stems from organising visits to universities over the summer.
Later I shall be heading into London, and into Hammersmith, to help out my godparents at a Filipino quiz this evening, and on the way home, if time permits, I might be dropping into the end-of-year party in Bromley-by-Bow.

A Filipino Weekend
I shall be working in Hounslow at the Barrio Fiesta all weekend, although the first thing I'll be doing on Saturday morning is getting my hands on that copy of Harry Potter 6 I reserved, oh, so long ago, and reading it on the train to Hounslow.

And this week concludes Year 12. And I can say that I'm probably a different person as to who I was at the beginning of Year 12. So much has happened, and so much has changed. Normally I don't mind change, but this year I think that I've been a bit more fearful of change, since everything seemed settled at the end of last summer.

*sigh* I don't know. There's so much to have a good think about...
